What are the symptoms of advanced CLL?

Many people with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) don't have any obvious physical symptoms until the disease is in a later stage. However, symptoms of CLL that has progressed may include:

  • Feeling very tired
  • Shortness of breath during normal physical activity
  • Anemia (decreased red blood cell count)
  • Swollen lymph nodes (particularly in the neck)
  • Feeling of fullness (due to an enlarged spleen or liver)
  • Unexplained weight loss
  • Night sweats
  • Easy bruising or bleeding
  • Low-grade fever
  • Frequent infections
